With a motorcycle racing career stretching back to 1982, the vastly experienced Welshman is something of a legend in his chosen profession.
Among his many achievements are 10 Isle of Man TT wins, 8 International North West 200 titles (where he has been on the winners rostrum every year since 1997 and is the only rider to win the 125cc race five years in succession), 14 Ulster Grand Prix victories, 34 Southern 100 (Isle of Man) race wins, the outright circuit win record of 126 race wins at Oliver's Mount, England's only 'pure' road race track.
He also holds the record for TT replicas presented to any TT racer in the history of the event, and this year saw him come to the line for his 100th TT start.
In the past few years Ian has successfully combined his own racing career with that as Team Owner of Team Blackhorse , a role he both relishes and enjoys immensely.
The 2010 season will see another chapter begin in Ian's career as he runs Kawasaki's official Superstock entry under the banner of Team Blackhorse Kawasaki.
Ian
himself will ride at the major roads events such as the TT, North West
200, Ulster GP and Oliver's Mount, using both Ninja ZX-6R and ZX-10R
machinery in Superbike, Superstock and Supersport classes.
